SMS Messaging & Consent

BookLocal is booking software operated by Future Proof Designers LLC. The business you book with — for example a barbershop or salon — uses BookLocal to take bookings. Text messages are sent on that business's behalf, and the consent request names the business and BookLocal.

If you opt in, you may receive text messages from the business about your appointments, reminders, and service updates. These are messages tied to a booking you made. Today, the service text BookLocal sends is the appointment reminder; the consent also covers other service updates about your appointment if a business sends them.

These messages are transactional. They are not advertising, and consent to them does not include marketing texts.

Promotional or marketing texts — such as review requests, rebooking reminders, special offers, and occasional win-back messages — require their own, separate consent. Consent to service and reminder texts is not consent to marketing texts, and a business can only offer marketing texts where it has turned that option on. The two consents are separate checkboxes, they can be given or declined independently, and neither is checked in advance.

• Consent is asked for during booking, next to a phone number you enter.
• You opt in by checking a box yourself. The boxes are unchecked by default.
• Consent is optional and is not a condition of booking, purchase or of using BookLocal. You can book without agreeing to receive texts.
• The consent sentence is separate from our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, which are linked for you to read but are not something you agree to by ticking the box.

• Message frequency varies with your bookings and activity with the business — for example, it depends on how many appointments you have and what updates they need.
• Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
• Delivery is not guaranteed, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

• Reply STOP to a text message to opt out. After you opt out, that business should not send you further texts unless you opt in again.
• Reply HELP for help. You can also contact the business you booked with directly about your appointment or the messages you receive, or email BookLocal at info@fpdesigner.com.
• Opting out of text messages does not stop you from using BookLocal. Booking and managing an appointment do not require text messages; email and the booking pages remain available.

Your phone number and your consent choices are used to send the messages you agreed to and to keep a record of that consent. Phone numbers and consent are not sold, and they are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. They may be shared with service providers who help deliver the messages. See the Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions.
